Zev j. Eigen

 

Bio

 

Zev J. Eigen is an Assistant Professor of law at Northwestern University School of Law, with a courtesy appointment as an Assistant Professor of Management and Strategy at   Kellogg School of Management.


Professor Eigen earned his Ph.D. from MIT’s Sloan School of Management. His dissertation, entitled, “A Behavioral Theory of Contract,” uses qualitative interviews, survey data, and the results of a large-scale online behavioral experiment to explore individuals’ experiences with and interpretations of form-adhesive contracts.


This research was supported by a Dissertation Improvement Grant in Law and Social Sciences by the National Science Foundation, a Graduate Research Fellowship by Harvard Law School’s Program on Negotiation, and generous funding by Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation.


He also holds a J.D. from Cornell Law School and a B.S. from Cornell University’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations.


Professor Eigen practiced labor and employment law since 1999, and continues to research and write in these areas. He worked as an associate with the law firm, Littler Mendelson in California, and then as Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation’s Senior Counsel, Labor Relations.


Zev was born in San Jose, Costa Rica, and grew up in SoHo in New York City. He’s also lived in Ithaca, NY, San Francisco, San Diego, Los Angeles, Hawai’i, Boston and now Chicago.
